From One Office to Serving All 50 States

ProTax Solutions was founded in 1998 by Marcus Webb, CPA, in a small office on Manhattan's Lower East Side. With a belief that every taxpayer deserves expert representation — not just the wealthy — Marcus set out to build a firm that combined big-firm expertise with small-firm personal service.

Starting as a one-man operation serving local families, ProTax grew steadily through referrals and an unwavering commitment to accuracy. By 2008, we had expanded to two locations and added business tax and bookkeeping services. Today, 18 dedicated professionals serve thousands of clients across all 50 states.

Our mission remains unchanged: make expert tax preparation stress-free, accessible, and rewarding for every client we serve.

1998

Founded

Marcus Webb opens ProTax Solutions in a single-room office in Manhattan's Lower East Side, serving 12 clients in the first year.

2003

Business Services Added

Expanded to serve small businesses with bookkeeping, payroll, and corporate tax returns. Hired first three employees.

2008

Second Office Opens

Opened our second location in Brooklyn. During the 2008 recession, helped hundreds of clients navigate difficult financial situations.

2015

Online Client Portal

Launched our secure online portal, enabling clients nationwide to upload documents and track their return status in real time.

2020

Fully Digital Service

Transitioned to full digital service capabilities, enabling seamless remote consultations and nationwide reach for all 50 states.

2026
